The Board

Our governing body, the Board carries ultimate responsibility for our overall strategic direction and for the management of our finances, property, employment arrangements and affairs generally. Read on to learn about the committees that report into the Board.

Audit and Risk Committee

Supports the Board by reviewing how effectively the University manages risk, control and governance, and provides assurance on these arrangements.

Finance Committee

Supports the Board by overseeing financial strategy and sustainability, including financial reporting, investments, subsidiaries and major capital projects.

Investment Sub-Committee

Supports the Finance Committee by assessing progress and priorities, and making recommendations.

Renumeration and People Committee

Responsible for approving senior staff pay on behalf of the Board, recommending people strategies and performance measures, and considering any proposals for academic redundancies where required.

Nominations and Governance Committee

Oversees the appointment of lay members through robust recruitment and selection processes, ensuring the Board has the right blend of skills, experience and diverse perspectives.

Senate

Responsible to the Board for the promotion of research, the regulation and monitoring of standards in teaching, and the regulation of student discipline.
