The University of Manchester Library joins the Open Education Network
The University of Manchester Library is delighted to announce that the University has joined the , becoming the latest UK institution to join this international community dedicated to advancing open education and expanding access to learning through open educational resources (OER). Our membership will provide access to a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, networking programmes and OER publishing support designed to help institutions embed open education in teaching and learning.听
Joining the OEN marks an important milestone for the Library鈥檚 which supports the creation, adoption and adaptation of OER. Through OEN membership, the project team will benefit from access to:
- Community expertise
- Best practice guidance
- Reviewing titles on Open Textbook Library,
- New publishing platforms
- Tools to demonstrate the impact of open education initiatives
For teaching staff, membership brings new opportunities to explore and adopt high-quality open textbooks and OER, connect with colleagues across the global open education community, and access training and support to develop and publish their own openly licensed teaching materials.听
Our membership will help colleagues to develop flexible, accessible and inclusive learning experiences, ensuring students have free and immediate access to learning resources whilst supporting the University's ambitions for personalised, digitally enabled education, outlined in 91直播 2035.听
We鈥檙e looking forward to connecting with the global OEN community, sharing best practice and learning from colleagues across the world as we develop our OER offer.
