Arts Administration Manager wins 鈥極utstanding professional services for social responsibility鈥� prize.
Congratulations to Alex Shaw, our Arts Administration Manager, who won the 鈥極utstanding professional services for social responsibility鈥� prize at the University of Manchester鈥檚 Making a Difference Awards on Wednesday 6 May.
Alex was recognised for her dedication to improving inclusivity and accessibility at Martin Harris Centre performances, diversifying our audiences, performers and volunteers, engaging more effectively with local communities, and improving wellbeing and health through our cultural programme and partnerships.
She said:
This project has grown and transformed our audience, staff and student experience over the last 10 years. I am passionate about connecting with the community, and making music and the arts accessible to everyone. I'm so proud that this work has been recognised on such a prestigious platform and I'm excited to see what the next decade will bring!
Hosted at the Whitworth Hall by President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Duncan Ivison, the ceremony recognised the outstanding achievements of our staff, students, alumni and external partners, and celebrated the ways in which they are driving meaningful change.
